Do I need to have my chimney swept every year?
It
is recommended by the National Fire Protection Association that
your chimney be inspected annually and swept as needed. A certified
chimney sweep will be able to determine whether or not your system
needs to be swept by the amount of soot build up in your flue liner
and other debris found in the system. Remember to always use a Chimney
Safety Institute of America (CSIA) certified sweep to perform all
of your chimney work.
Do
the chimney sweeping logs work?
At
Black Goose Chimney Sweep we follow all regulations provided by
the National Fire Protection Association and the Chimney Safety
Institute of America. According to the CSIA, chimney sweeping logs
are not effective at providing the same level of protection that
would be provided by a certified chimney sweep professional. For
