Hi Jim, just wanted to take a moment to send a quick note to you and your staff, to let you know how much we like our new fireplace and the HEAT it provides. LOVE IT actually!!!!

Also, I wanted to comment on how much I appreciated the work and overall behavior of Dock. He worked so diligently installing the unit and was so professional, courteous and patient in explaining the operation of the system to me. Because we fairly recently laid new carpet, I had asked that he take his shoes off each time he came in from outdoors and he put up with that hassle without batting an eye. He worked late both days he was here, making sure everything was right, and I appreciated that.

Thanks again, and feel free to use me as a reference anytime.

"I recently had my chimney cleaned by XXXXX. I have used them in the past for servicing my unit with great satisfaction. After the technician cleaned my chimney he recommended replacing all four walls due to cracks in the panels. This job was estimated at a cost of $1200.00but was discounted to $800.00. The technician from XXXXX showed up at the appointed time to replace the panels only to find their product was not suitable for my insert. The manager on duty called back and stated he could not complete the repairs and when asked who might, he recommended Black Goose.

I spoke with Jim the owner of Black Goose explaining my dilemma. Jim attempted through his resources to find the TEMCO replacement parts and was unsuccessful in his search (Temco is no longer in business). After reviewing the alternatives I scheduled an appointment for Jim's team to come out and affect the repairs using generic replacement panels.

Mike and Beau, their technicians, called before their arrival to confirm the appointment and that they were on their way. Five minutes into reviewing the job they called me into the room to discuss why I thought I needed to replace the existing panels. I stated XXXXX recommended the panels be replaced because some of the wire used to create the panels was slightly visible and that there was a horizontal hairline crack in the back panel. Both Mike and Beau strongly disagreed with the other companies findings stating the panels looked perfectly fine showing only normal wear and tear.Both technicians agreed the panels only need to be replaced if they were broken and separated or if they had larger sized cracks.

I was just recently laid off from my job of sixteen years and REALLY APPRECIATED their concern for my home safety as well as the unnecessary cost of repair.

I would recommend Black Goose to anyone who was looking for annual cleaning and repairs knowing they put the client first ahead of marketing and selling the client services that were costly and unnecessary.

"Mr. Bostaph,

Black Goose cleaned our dryer vent this past May and we were very pleased with the service. Mike and Dave arrived on time and went right to work. They were very cordial and answered all our questions. We received a free chimney inspection and a free estimate on replacing the top pan.

We only expected the dryer vent to be cleaned, But Mike went the extra mile and shortened the flexible pipe which connects the dryer to the wall which doubled the air flow. This has cut our drying time in half. It used to take two or more cycles to dry a load of clothes. Now everything gets dry in one cycle or less.  This will save us a huge amount of electricity in the years to come. The savings will more than pay for the cost of the service. The $12.00 online coupon helped as well. 

If I had known that all this was included in the service, I would have called years ago.
